The final small patch for WoW Shadowlands went live on May 31, and it brings some major changes to the world of Azeroth. For the first time in a long time, many of the features that came with the patch have been kept under wraps. World of Warcraft's 9.2.5 update hopes to change that by encrypting most of its content and disallowing players to experience it before everyone else. Instead, PTR is largely focused on testing cross-faction gameplay, with story elements shrouded in mystery. Now the player has some information. It's been made clear that 9.2.5 will add cross-faction gameplay, but it's never been mentioned that players will also get three different questlines, including cutscenes and the long-awaited Hunter Dark Ranger customization. It will be described in detail below.

Cross-Faction Gameplay

The biggest feature of 9.2.5 is the introduction of cross-faction instances. After 18 years of hatred, World of Warcraft players can finally team up, no matter which faction they choose. Previously, both Horde and Alliance players were banned from cooperating or even interacting with each other. Instead, they only meet on the battlefield or wander Azeroth. In 9.2.5, all of that changed, as the walls between factions were finally torn down.

Horde and Alliance players can team up to complete wealth of PvE content. Players can team up with members of the opposing faction through Battle.net, or if they are part of a cross-faction Warcraft community. They can also find prefab sets for Dungeons, Raids, Rated Arenas, and Torghast. Once they're in a dungeon, they'll be friendly with each other and be able to complete content together, but there are instances where it can't be done across factions because they have a specific faction story. The best part about this feature is that it's completely optional, so those who still want to keep factions divided can.

Dark Ranger Customization

Players have been clamoring for the option to play the Dark Ranger for years, and Blizzard has finally delivered. In a move no one expected, the Dark Ranger customization has been unlocked for players who complete the new Return to Lordaeron questline. When done, they'll unlock Dark Ranger customization options for Blood Elf, Night Elf, and Void Elf. They can go to the barbershop and give their elf white skin and red eyes, or they can create a whole new character and start leveling up the Dark Ranger. They can also go to the Hunter Class Order Hall and purchase a Dark Ranger Transmog set to complete the look.

More Heritage Armor

Blizzard introduced traditional armor in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and has been expanding it ever since. Each allied race gets their Heritage Armor at level 50, and core races with Heritage Armor get them when they reach max level and are worshipped by their race. In the past, both blood elves and dark iron dwarves have received heritage armor, but Blizzard chose to expand these armors in 9.2.5 and add more for players to collect.

Players who complete the Blood Elf Legacy Armor questline can now pursue another set of Legacy armor. After completing an interesting questline involving the Scourge of the Undead, Blood Elf players can unlock the new Chocobo mount and Blood Knight transmog set. Dark Iron players can unlock a new Grimhowl's Face Axe mount and a set of weapon transmogs that matches their already unlocked Legacy Set. These new unlocks will improve players' ability to customize their characters to their liking, which is always a win for an MMO.

New Campaign Chapters

One of the biggest additions in 9.2.5 is the addition of three new campaign chapters with in-game cutscenes. Most players think the Shadowlands story is over in 9.2 Eternal's End and they won't get more of it before the Dragonflight pre-patch event, but Blizzard has other plans. Players can head to Oribos for these questlines and check out the endings of various Shadowlands story beats, as well as Dragonflight's settings.

Three questlines and cutscenes focus on what happens next for many of Azeroth's characters. Players will be able to witness Anduin's chaos as he tries to figure out what happens next after being corrupted by the jailers. They will then witness the future of the night elves after the World Tree was burned by Sylvanas in the Battle for Azeroth. They will also embark on a mission to help clean up Lordaeron and prepare the Forsaken for a future without the Banshee Queen. These questlines offer an end and hope to many of Azeroth's heroes who have suffered in the last few expansions. You can TBC Classic Gold Buy here.
